Coach: Javier Pena

Coach Javier Coaching/Playing Bio:

Coach Javier Pena joined our club in 2016 with a tremendous amount of coaching and playing experience. Coach Javier Pena has worked with Dallas area youth soccer players for over 12 years. He started his soccer playing experience with Boca Juniors Soccer Club. Later in life he became a coach for Boca where he coached ages 5 to 21, recreational and competitive, for over 10 years. After Boca he coached the Garland High School soccer team for two seasons. Through soccer he learned that he loved teaching and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies from The University of North Texas. He also started a short lived soccer club, Boulder Soccer Club, that was ended in order to earn a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M, Commerce. He is a teacher by day and hopes to soon be an assistant principal in the near future.

Coach Pena’s winning philosophy “pressure, possession, support” always encourages players to problem solve and work together to offer players a challenging learning experience and a great challenge to any rival. The development of soccer players focuses on the physical and mental preparation to be successful in college academics and athletics. At the practice field you will see him train individuals on technical needs and team tactical needs. It is important for players to be able to collaborate with others to solve a continuous changing game called life. While Coach Pena teaches players soccer, he also allows them to teach each other the skills of leadership, respect, time management, and communication.

Coach Pena’s piece of advise for those reading this bio is “Do good and disappear. It’s amazing what good things will get done when you don’t expect a reward.” 1, 2, 3, Kaos!!!!
